Groups on a Sunday

The children stay in the service for the first half an hour or less and then we provide four groups for them to attend if they wish.

Creche

At present our smallest children stay with us during the service and play with the toys provided. Anyone with very small children needs to know that we don't mind children making reasonable amounts of noise, so long as we can hear most of what is happening at the front!

Sunday School

There are two Sunday school groups – one for older preschool and key stage 1 children and one for key stage 2.

The key stage 1 and 2 group have a lot of fun learning together through a variety of activities. They always start with snack time and a space to catch up with the excitement of the week. Then they look inside the Bible and the children take it in turns to open the Bible where they will find a clue to the day's story. The story is told using pictures, dolls or puppets before children make something through craft, colouring or cooking. These are specially designed to help reinforce learning. They always have a lot of fun and often make a mess in the process.

CY

The 11-16 group meets in our CY group in a room next to our main hall. We also run a group on Sunday mornings during the time when Sunday school takes place. These children study the Bible at a level appropriate to the age group, helping the young people to see why Jesus is relevant to them. Currently, we have a very artistic group which likes to make all sorts of wonderful creations to express how they understand the God of the Bible. They also share games which help the young people think in more depth about faith and have the opportunity to ask any questions they have about Christianity. There is a time at the end of the session for refreshments, listening to music and chatting.
