Directions from A12 East

From the A12, take the first exit for Colchester and follow Ipswich Road towards the town centre. You will pass a number of car salesrooms on both sides and a business park on your right. At the traffic lights continue straight on. At the next roundabout (the Rovers Tye pub is on the corner) continue straight on again and follow the road all the way down the hill until you reach a double mini roundabout. Again, continue straight over the roundabout (still Ipswich Road), and at the bottom of the hill there is another mini roundabout where you turn right and go over the railway at a level crossing. At the next junction, after the traffic lights and opposite a tyre fitting garage, turn left up Brook Street. At the traffic lights at the top of the hill turn right onto Magdalen Street, and at the big roundabout that follows take the first exit (left) up Mersea Road. Follow this road all the way, passing the barracks and the cemetary on your right. Carry straight on over any mini roundabouts you come across. You will eventually come to two zebra crossings and some shops on your right. At the following roundabout carry straight on into Blackheath. The church is on your right just after the Cherry Tree garage.

Directions from A12 West

From the A12, come off at junction 27 for Colchester, and at the roundabout follow signs for Colchester along the tree-lined Avenue of Remembrance. After passing a school on your right, turn right at the roundabout (Westway), and at the next roundabout take the third exit up the hill (Balkerne Hill). At the next roundabout turn left and keep in the outside lane (Southway). After two sets of traffic lights you come to a large roundabout, where you turn right up Mersea Road. Follow this road all the way, passing the barracks and the cemetary on your right. Carry straight on over any mini roundabouts you come across. You will eventually come to two zebra crossings and some shops on your right. At the following roundabout carry straight on into Blackheath. The church is on your right just after the Cherry Tree garage.

Bus routes

The church is on the city centre to West Mersea bus route, number 67, which runs hourly weekdays and weekends.
